Wore out my first one, bought another. I’m giving it 5 stars, but I will offer the caveat that this is for a combined 12 cup coffeemaker and hot water dispenser. I don’t know that I would have given the individual components (coffee and water) 5 stars, but I’ll throw in an extra star for the pure convenience and accept that a couple compromises were needed to put both functions in one unit.I am now on my second one. The first one lasted a little over 3 years (alas, just out of warranty). I made the initial purchase because we have a tea drinker as well as coffee drinkers in the household. The first unit worked great for three years, then developed a leak on the hot water side. But considering we got 1000 days of service, I think that’s pretty cost effective. Various coffee only makers I’ve had over the years seem to have a similar service life. I considered replacing it right away, but had read some negative reviews suggesting bad taste on the water side (a problem I’d never had). We used it…

Warranties Don’t Matter to Cuisinart I hate writing this type of review but I feel like others need to understand about this coffee maker that you can’t get anywhere but here on Amazon. I purchased this coffee maker the first week in August of last year, so it isn’t even a year old. About a week before things started going bad I noticed that it stopped being able to hold onto it’s programming, start and stop times, clock…etc. At first I just figured the power in the house must have gone off so I just entered the programming again. It wasn’t the power in the house. By the end of the week the LCD display just got dimmer and dimmer until it finally just disappeared altogether. It simply died!!! Here’s the problem, I loved that coffee maker, so much so that I ordered another Cuisinart Coffee Maker the day it went out. I ordered the Cuisinart DCC-2650 Brew Central 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker that’s how much I loved their coffee makers. My thoughts were that first I had to replace the coffee maker ASAP. I don’t know…

DO NOT BUY CUISINART! THEY DO NOT BACK THEIR PRODUCTS. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I have had THREE of this coffee maker FAIL within just 2-3 months use…same thing every time. After a short time, the hot water dispenser side starts blinking “add water” (even though the water is full) and it will not longer heat the water. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Their policy is that you need to send back the unit THREE TIMES before they will offer to replace it with a different product. You have to pay to return the product AND pay them $10 to get the new one. I also learned that Cuisinart is owned by Conair. Quality is terrible.
